Not sure if we need to write a page on this or not but we are a tree service company and of course we offer tree care, and you guessed it we trim them up as well.

Trees should only have certain branches taken off. If a tree branch has died and might fall it would need cut down. People also cut branches down due to the tree being top heavy or lopsided. The third reason that people would trim the tree branches would be for aesthetics. If a tree needs to look a certain way then a pro should figure out how to trim it so that its safe and looks pleasing. A forth reason that we would get to chopping would be due to safety reasons on the branches growing too close to power lines or something else they shouldn't be growing around. Got a big oak that is blocking your view? 
We can handle that. It's almost like we are monkeys the way we get around from limb to limb. A bunch of monkeys with chainsaws and other neat tree trimming tools. A bunch of safe monkey's though. We definitely don't act like them when it comes being smart and safe. Just in the tree's. We like being 60 feet high looking down at a big monster knowing that we carefully remove it branch by branch.

Is the small pine looking like it is going to tip? Some of these pines really start to lean at the top. Some of the also split and a big portion of the top looks like it will come down any moment. Believe me, we have seen pretty much everything. One thing that you really should keep in mind is most of the time the power company will come trim your tree for you if it grows to close to the power lines. Simply call your power company and let them know. Now, something to keep in mind here is that they will only trim the part that is related to the power line danger. They aren't going to trim the rest up to make is aesthetically pleasing. They will do what they need to do to protect the power equipment and make sure it is less likely to lead to any harm or injury.
