If you're like most people you've probably never heard of a dibble. A dibble  is a tool used to push the dirt out of the way so that you can successfully plant a new tree. A dibble  is used not to plant big trees with the plant very small trees because it moves the ground out of the way where you have about a 3 to 6 in opening wide and about 6 in to 10 in deep. This opening will allow enough room for you to put the root of the tree you're going to plant in it and that will allow you to let the tree grow so let's get started.

The first thing you're going to notice about the dibble is it has an edge to place your foot on. This allows you to push down with your foot just as if you would be pushing  a shovel in the ground. So you take the dibble and you put your foot on it and push it down into the ground. Once you have it in the ground you work it push the handle back and forth all the way forward and all the way back so that it creates a hole. You  or simply moving the dirt out of the way to create a hole in the ground. Once you've created that whole then you can get your tree or other plant and begin that process.

Take your plant and put the root in the hole that you've just made with the dibble. Be careful here not to let your root bend back when placing it in the small hole. Call creating a j with your route and it's not healthy for the new plant. So If you have your tree root in the hole and you make sure that it's not too deep. Amber from prior articles you want to keep a little bit of the top of the root exposed so that your tree can grow properly. Make sure the tree is straight up and down so that it's not growing sideways or at an angle. The next thing we're going to do is push the dirt back onto the roots again with the dibble.

Using your foot to put on the edge of the Dibble you would put it on an angle near the whole you already made and push it in the ground. Going to do this about 10 in from the current hole that's already there the one that has the tree in it. Once you have the Dibble stuck in the ground add an angle near the other hole you simply push the handle of the devil towards the hole so as to push the dirt up against the tree roots. Once that's accomplished you take your foot and press around  a newly planted tree. This way you can push all of the air and make sure the dirt is firm around the newly planted tree. This will allow the tree to be secure upright and grow healthy and for many years.
